The Oviedo goes after Luka Jovic!

Real Oviedo is not beating around the bush in its return to the elite. The Asturian club, recently promoted to La Liga, wants to build an ambitious project and has set its sights on Luka Jovic (Loznica, 1997), the Serbian forward currently without a team *after finishing his spell at Milan*.

As reported by the A Diario program on Radio MARCA, talks between the player and the Oviedo team *are already underway*. Jovic, after two seasons in Serie A, sees a *return to La Liga* with good eyes, where he previously played for *Real Madrid*. And Oviedo, led by *Veljko Paunovic*, wants to take advantage of that willingness to close a complex deal.

The competition, however, is fierce. *Getafe has joined the bidding*, while from Mexico, *Cruz Azul* has also shown interest. In addition, offers have been received from *Saudi Arabia*, with financial figures well above what Oviedo could afford. But the card that the blue team plays is Paunovic. *The coach, a compatriot of Jovic*, will hold a virtual meeting with the striker this Friday, key to convincing him that his future lies at the Tartiere.

Jovic's signing *would represent a strong commitment for Oviedo*, both in terms of *sports* and *economics*. At 27 years old, the forward has a proven track record in European football. He came up through *Red Star Belgrade*, had stints at *Benfica*, rose to prominence at *Eintracht Frankfurt*, and in 2019, *signed for Real Madrid for 63 million euros*. Wearing the white shirt, he played 51 games, scored three goals, and provided five assists. Then came his spells at *Fiorentina* and *Milan*, where he recently ended his contract.
