Konate remains pending Real Madrid's elections
Ibrahima Konaté appears as an operation already well underway for Real Madrid, although its execution would depend on the outcome of the election at the white club. The Liverpool centre-back's contract runs out this June, and the reactivation of the Madrid option would have put other routes on hold.

The move for Konaté would already have its main economic conditions agreed. According to the information cited, the deal includes a four-season contract, running until 2030, with a salary of 12 million euros net per season, around 24 million gross. On top of that figure, the player would receive a 20 million euro signing bonus.
In any case, the operation would not be carried out immediately. Everything is tied to the Real Madrid elections and to Florentino Pérez's continued leadership at the helm of the club. If the current president is re-elected, the signing of the French defender would be activated after the electoral process.
Fabrizio Romano has advanced that an understanding between the parties already exists. In that scenario, Konaté would have paused talks with clubs in Saudi Arabia after the white club's route regained momentum. Real Madrid, always according to that information, had kept the centre-back as an alternative to strengthen the squad for next season, without breaking the rules with Liverpool.
Over the past few weeks, a renewal at Anfield was also considered. The player himself spoke after one of those matches about those moves as “part of the negotiation”, but an extension with Liverpool would not be completed if the conditions set by the Madrid operation are met.
Konaté's sporting figures this season
Konaté has topped this campaign with 50 matches and 4,000 minutes across the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and Community Shield. His record is two goals in 51 appearances, with only two absences in the English side: one due to special permission and another for a technical decision.
That level of availability is one of the arguments behind the club's interest. Real Madrid is looking for a resilient centre-back with competitive continuity, a profile that, according to the published information, would fit what José Mourinho could need.
