Osasuna won't give up and will go back for Dubasin
Osasuna is still pushing for the signing of Jonathan Dubasin despite Sporting's initial rejection. The attacker wants to play in LaLiga and keeps his options open.
CA Osasuna
Jonathan Dubasin remains one of Osasuna's main targets to strengthen their attack. Although Sporting de Gijón has already rejected an initial offer from the Navarrese club, at El Sadar they are not writing the deal off and are looking at new ways to try to convince the Asturian side.
The red-and-white offer was worth 2.5 million euros in fixed fees and could rise to three million through add-ons. However, the Sporting views the player as a key piece in its project and ruled out negotiating his exit on those terms.
Working in Osasuna's favor is the player's own desire. At 26 years old, Dubasin wants to make the step up to LaLiga after putting in a strong season in the Segunda, and he sees the possibility of changing clubs this summer in a positive light. Even so, the Navarrese club has no intention of getting into an excessive bidding war.
Alavés and Espanyol are also keeping a close eye on his situation after the great level he showed over the last campaign, which could increase the competition for his signature in the coming weeks.
In the 2025/26 season, Dubasin played 43 official matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 10 assists, making him one of the Sporting's most decisive players both in terms of numbers and his influence on the game.
He can play as a winger on either flank, as a second striker, or even as an attacking focal point. He stands out for his pace, ability to beat opponents one-on-one, intensity in pressing, and his ease at finding space between the lines. In addition, he combines unbalancing play with solid defensive work, a profile that fits Osasuna's style of play.
Another factor that could bring the deal closer is that Dubasin already knows several members of the red-and-white dressing room because he shared a team with Jorge Herrando at UD Logroñés, with Flavien Boyomo at Albacete and with Abel Bretones at Real Oviedo, which would make his adaptation easier if the transfer is ultimately agreed.
