Real Madrid make their home debut this season after beating Espanyol away in a tough match.

For this clash in the highly anticipated Mourinho return to the Bernabeu, the lineup could change slightly, although the possible starting XI still raises plenty of doubts. 

The main question marks are in defence, where Trent could start instead of Dumfries, Konate could repeat and regain his place over Rüdiger, and Cucurella could be in the starting XI instead of Carreras. 

Meanwhile, in the midfield area, Güler looks set to start due to Bellingham and Bernardo's issues, and Bernardo would stay in place with Tchoameni ruled out. 

In attack, the doubt is between Diomande or Brahim.

Real Sociedad arrive after losing 1-0 to Betis in a very evenly matched contest. Matarazzo's side deserved more in the final stretch, but Óskarsson lacked the finishing touch to seal a draw that was in their boots.

With hardly any time to rest, Real face a match of the highest demands against Real Madrid. Despite the physical toll, few changes are expected in Matarazzo's starting XI, who will keep his trusted core to maintain the game plan. The only change will be the introduction of Oyarzabal and possibly Turrientes for Sucic.

Against an unforgiving opponent, the key will be to tighten up defensive solidity and sharpen the finishing in the few chances that come. A high-pressure test to check whether the starting XI can keep the pace.
