Bouare sets course for his exit from Betis and will play for Rayo

The move comes in the final days of the transfer window and puts an end to several weeks of uncertainty about the player’s future. The Betis had already paid around 500,000 euros in an operation linked to Nobel Mendy for the 50% of Bouaré’s registration, and retains another 50% in case of a future sale.

As reported this Tuesday by El Chiringuito, the player is in the capital to undergo medical tests and complete his move to Rayo Vallecano. The deal is being activated after the Madrid club secured a preferential option on the academy player, included in the previous agreement between the two sides.

Bouaré, 22 years old, effectively completed the entire pre-season under the orders of Manuel Pellegrini and left good impressions during his appearances. His contractual situation, however, shaped the outcome: he had one year left on his contract with Betis and a release clause of 15 million euros.

A renewal that never got closed

The player wanted to remain tied to Betis, but both he and his camp understood that his next step had to come with already having first-team registration and salary. The Betis proposal, meanwhile, was to initially keep him with the B team’s registration, with incentives linked to his presence in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.

Those incentives included a bonus if he reached eight matches with the first team, as Diario de Sevilla reported at the time. Talks between the parties focused on an extension of three seasons, but they ultimately failed to reach a deal.

The lack of an agreement ended up taking Bouaré out of the group’s rhythm after the last pre-season friendly, played against the Inter in Bari, and he also did not feature in the B team’s matches afterwards.
