The future of Javi Rueda has taken a major turn in the past few hours. According to information provided by Matteo Moretto on DAZN, the full-back is about to leave Celta to head to Nottingham Forest.

The deal had been taking shape for several days. The English club had shown strong interest in the player and even reports had surfaced of a major financial offer for both Celta and the player himself. In the last few hours, it seemed that Rueda was leaning toward staying in Vigo, but negotiations would have progressed to the point where his exit is now very close to being finalized.

The move would mean a major loss for Claudio Giráldez, who had made it clear publicly that he considers the full-back a key piece in his squad. The player recently renewed his contract with Celta and his release clause exceeds 30 million euros. In addition, the Real Madrid retains 50% of the economic rights of a future sale.

Bajcetic returns to Celta, and it will be permanent

The possible departure of Rueda coincides with another operation of huge interest for the Galician side. Stefan Bajcetic is very close to returning to Celta, the club where he was formed before joining Liverpool's youth ranks in 2021.

The main new development is the formula. It would not be a loan, but a permanent move. Moretto says the midfielder will be transferred to Celta, a deal that is practically done.

Celta and Liverpool have been fine-tuning the details of the agreement over the past few hours. The player is under contract with the English club until 2027 and the plan in Vigo is to bring him back progressively after the long period he has been away from the pitch due to his physical problems.

He would start with Celta Fortuna

The initial plan for Celta is for Bajcetic to be registered with Fortuna and begin competing in Segunda División, where he can rebuild match sharpness and sensations before making the jump to Claudio Giráldez's first team.

The midfielder has been 15 months without playing after suffering a complicated hamstring injury that ended up requiring surgery, so he will need to pass an exhaustive medical check before the operation is completed for good.

At 21 years old, Celta believes there is still room to recover the player who surprised English football when he broke into the first team of the Liverpool under the orders of Jürgen Klopp.

Two major moves for a Celta that is facing a particularly intense final stretch of the transfer window: Javi Rueda could head to the Premier League and Stefan Bajcetic is very close to coming back home.
