Arnau Martínez paves the way for his Valencia move through 2031

The defensive reinforcement that Carlos Corberán had been calling for is now entering its final phase. The coach had asked for one more piece for a squad still to be completed, and the profile of the Catalan player fits thanks to his ability to operate both as a right-back and in the heart of the defense.

The Valencia and Girona are already exchanging documents to finalize the signing, according to Héctor Gómez, a journalist at Tribuna Deportiva. The 23-year-old has also done his part by accepting a pay cut, which proved key to unlocking the talks.

The figures of the agreement

The transfer is set at five million euros guaranteed, another million tied to variables, and a 10% share for Girona in the event of a future sale. Once he completes his medical tests, Arnau Martínez will sign a contract through June 2031.

As of August 25, neither of the two clubs had made the move official. The defender is expected to travel to Valencia to undergo the medical check and put his signature on his new deal after three weeks of negotiations between the clubs and the player's camp.
