Southampton in talks with Elche for David Affengruber
The English club has identified the Austrian centre-back as an option to strengthen its defence following the departure of Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Elche are asking for 12 million euros, although the deal could be concluded for a figure close to ten million.

With the transfer window closing in, the future of David Affengruber could be settled in the coming hours. The Southampton have already made contact with the Elche CF to negotiate the signing of the Austrian centre-back, according to the transfer-market journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The English club is looking to bolster its defence in the final stretch of the transfer window and considers Affengruber an alternative to cover the departure of Taylor Harwood-Bellis. The defender has therefore been placed among the targets for that position at the British club.
Elche have reportedly set the required fee at 12 million euros to allow the player to leave. However, ongoing talks with Southampton could lead to an agreement for a sum close to 10 million euros.
The deal is at a decisive moment, with just over 24 hours until the transfer window closes. The outcome will depend on how negotiations progress, which could move quickly over the next few hours, while Elche decide whether to stick with their initial demands or accept an offer close to ten million euros.
