Racing sign Andre Almeida until the end of the season

The Racing de Santander have completed the signing of André Almeida to strengthen their midfield. The Valencia player will be with the Cantabrian side until the end of the season, after negotiations were settled this Tuesday, the last day of the transfer window.

The agreement has been reached through a loan with no purchase option. Racing will pay a small amount for the loan and will take on 100% of the salary of the Portuguese midfielder.

A deal settled in 24 hours

Interest from the Santander club came just a day before the deadline. Racing asked about Almeida's situation yesterday and, over the following 24 hours, both sides reached a final agreement.

The player's exit is also linked to his role at Valencia. Carlos Corberán does not count on him for this season, while the player himself did not want to stay at Mestalla under those conditions. The search for a new destination was stepped up over the last few hours and ended with his arrival at the racing side.

In Santander, André Almeida joins the team coached by José Alberto López as another option for the middle of the park. The Portuguese has experience in LaLiga and will look at El Sardinero to regain prominence and consistency.
