The visit of Atletico Madrid to San Mamés is already focusing the preparation of the Rojiblancos. The team will face the Athletic Club next Saturday, September 5, and Diego Pablo Simeone used Tuesday's training session to test an initial formation.

The opening trial had Oblak in goal, with Pubill, Hancko, Llorente and Grimaldo in the defensive line. Hjulmand and Barrios took up positions in midfield, while Baena and Kang-in Lee played ahead of them. The attacking pair was made up of Giuliano and Lookman.

The lineup was not locked in during the session. The Argentine coach introduced changes to analyze different alternatives and assess the possibilities he can use in the San Mamés match.

One of the most notable variations was the introduction of Cuti Romero for Grimaldo, a move that sent Hancko to left-back. There were also changes in goal, where Musso took Oblak's place in one of the tests.

Midfield and the attacking area were also subject to adjustments. Koke replaced Hjulmand, while Julián Álvarez came on for Kang-in Lee. Up front, Arnau Ortiz took Lookman's spot.

Atletico's starting XI could still be modified before Saturday. Simeone has several training sessions to fine-tune the game plan and choose the players who will look to impose themselves at San Mamés.
