Tarrrega leaves the field against Sevilla with an injury

Valencia had to change its plan very early at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. Cesar Tarrrega left the pitch in the 24th minute of the match against Sevilla, corresponding to the fifth matchday of LaLiga, after feeling discomfort in the back of his thigh.

The centre-back, who had started the game as a starter, received treatment on the grass. After that, the affected area was bandaged before the player went off the field. Carlos Corberan reacted immediately and brought on Iker Cordoba to take his place in the heart of the defence.

The incident comes at a delicate time for the Valencia side, who were heading into this round with just one point from their first four matchdays and an increasingly crowded treatment room. The situation further limits Corberan's options in the defensive line.

Valencia's list of absences already included Sergi Canos, Diakhaby, Copete, Guido, Sadiq, Rioja, Diego Lopez and Foulquier. Tarrrega's injury now adds another setback to the squad during the trip to Sevilla.

It remains to be seen exactly how serious the discomfort is and the results of the medical tests that will be carried out on the player. For now, Valencia will be monitoring Tarrrega's progress over the coming days, after seeing him leave the pitch with the back of his thigh bandaged.
