The visit to Real Madrid brought more news than the result for Beñat San José's side. Rayane Belaid and Mujaid Sadick played their first official minutes in the franjirroja shirt on a night when Emil Audero also made his debut, while Marash Kumbulla will have to keep waiting.

Rayo Vallecano

The 4-1 defeat against the Real Madrid served to help several of the club's latest reinforcements start to come into Beñat San José's plans. Audero was the only one of the three debutants to start, taking charge of goal for the Vallecano side at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The goalkeeper completed his first official appearance for the Franja with a standout performance and, in addition, left a piece of history: he became the first Indonesian player to take part in a LaLiga match.

Belaid and Sadick, two new options for San José

The next debut came late in the second half. Rayane Belaid came on in the 67th minute for Pedro Díaz, with the score at 3-1. That allowed the midfielder to play his first official minutes since joining Rayo Vallecano in the final days of the transfer window.

Just seven minutes later, Mujaid Sadick appeared. The centre-back replaced Unai López in the 74th minute, still with the score at 3-1, and his introduction forced a reshuffle of the team's setup. Pathé Ciss pushed his position forward into midfield after the defender came on.

For Sadick, too, it was a special night. Since his arrival, he had not yet been part of any squad, so his first appearance with the franjirrojos came directly in one of the competition's most demanding venues.

The one who was included in the list but did not make it onto the pitch was Marash Kumbulla. The defender returned to training with the group this week after overcoming the discomfort that had kept him out of Beñat San José's early call-ups. His presence in Madrid meant his return to a squad after several weeks sidelined.

Kumbulla will have to wait to make his official debut. With Audero, Belaid and Sadick already used, San José adds new options to a squad that has started the season shaped by several absences and by players who were still pending a full integration into the competition.
