Raphinha named in the squad: Will he play vs Betis?

FC Barcelona

The Brazilian forward missed the last two matches for the Blaugrana side, against Getafe and Galatasaray, but his progress has been positive and he has already rejoined training with his teammates. His inclusion in the squad is excellent news for Hansi Flick, although his starting spot is still not guaranteed.

The German coach had already warned in his press conference that he will be cautious with the player. Even though Raphinha is ready to compete, Flick believes it is necessary to manage his minutes progressively, especially given the demanding schedule Barcelona is facing.

Another important update is the return of Frenkie de Jong, who is also back after a knee injury. The Dutch midfielder has not played any matches this season yet, so his integration into the team could also happen gradually.

Including Raphinha in the squad significantly reduces the risk of him ending up missing the game, but it does not eliminate it completely. The Brazilian could start from the bench and get some minutes in the second half, a scenario that Fantasy managers will have to weigh up before finalizing their lineups. Particularly, I have him and I am going to play him this matchday.

With his return, Flick regains a top-level attacking option, although he will have to decide how to distribute the minutes among Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Adeyemi, Gordon and Gabriel Jesus.

Meanwhile, Christensen and Roony Bardghji remain out of the squad and will not be available for the match against the Verdiblancos.
