Deportivo activates the exit operation
Cristian Herrera and José Gragera will not continue at Deportivo. The forward ends his spell at Riazor and the midfielder returns to Espanyol.
Real Club Deportivo de la Coruña
Deportivo continues to shape its squad for next season and has already made two important decisions. Cristian Herrera and José Gragera will not wear the blue-and-white shirt next season, bringing to a close two chapters with very different paths at Riazor.
The departure of both players forms part of the first moves of a summer that promises to be intense in the offices of the Coruña club. Sporting management is working on putting together the new project while fine-tuning a squad that will see several changes over the coming weeks.
Cristian Herrera
In the case of Cristian Herrera, his farewell brings an end to an adventure that began in the summer of 2024. The forward arrived in A Coruña after finishing his link with the UD Las Palmas and came with the experience of a player used to competing in Spanish professional football.
His contract included a series of clauses that automatically triggered a renewal during the previous campaign. However, the sporting situation changed over the months. Under the orders of Antonio Hidalgo , he lost his place in the spotlight and ended up playing a secondary role within the attacking rotation.
The Canary Islands attacker leaves Deportivo after featuring in 44 official matches. He started ten times and contributed five goals during his spell with the Galician club.

José Gragera
The club relationship with José Gragera also comes to an end. The midfielder arrived on loan with the intention of becoming an important piece in the engine room, but he never managed to establish himself definitively. His involvement was gradually decreasing until he was relegated to a far less significant role than expected.
With the loan concluded, Gragera will return to Espanyol, the club where he is under contract until 2028. However, his future does not appear to be in Barcelona either. Coach Manolo González made it clear last season that he was not part of his plans, and everything points to him studying another exit again.
Second Division teams are keeping an eye on his situation, and there are also options in Belgium to relaunch a career that is looking for stability and minutes after an uneven season.

Meanwhile, Deportivo continues to move forward with planning for next season, which seems to be one that will have plenty of movement.
