Goalkeeping is one of the priorities for Chema Aragón at the Racing de Santander in this transfer window, and one of the first names to appear on the agenda is Julen Agirrezabala.
The Athletic Club goalkeeper, 25, returns to Bilbao after spending last season on loan at the Valencia. Despite enjoying a prominent role during the campaign, the Valencia side decided not to exercise the purchase option, so the keeper is now looking to resolve his future.

According to the latest reports, the Racing has already held an initial contact to find out the player’s situation. However, the response from the Athletic was clear: his exit would only happen via a transfer close to seven million euros, a figure beyond the reach of the Cantabrian club.
For now, there is no advanced negotiation and everything points to this being only a first step. That said, the market is long and Agirrezabala’s situation could change in the coming weeks if the Athletic adjusts its demands.
