Getafe sign a new striker
Getafe strengthens its attack in the final stretch of the transfer window with the arrival of Iván Azón. The Aragonese forward joins on loan from Como 1907 and will once again share a dressing room with Francho Serrano, with whom he previously overlapped at Real Zaragoza.
Getafe CF
The deal has been closed with less than two days to go before the transfer window curtain falls, set for this Tuesday at 23.59. Getafe CF has reached an agreement with Como 1907 to bring the attacker in on loan, a formula with which José Bordalás adds a new option to his frontline.
Azón was one of the names the Madrid club had been considering as a priority for this final stretch of August. The player had other options on the table, with proposals coming from France, Italy and also the Championship, but it will ultimately be the blue-and-ones who will have his services this season.
Reunion with Francho Serrano
The signing also brings a familiar image for Zaragoza fans. Iván Azón and Francho Serrano, two academy products who made the step up to Real Zaragoza's first team practically at the same time during the 2020-21 season, will be reunited again five years later.
The forward left for Como in January 2025 and last season played on loan at Ipswich Town. Now he begins a new chapter in LaLiga, where he will be under the orders of Bordalás and share a dressing room with Francho, who this summer left Real Zaragoza to make the jump to the top tier.
