Lucas Stassin, one step away from becoming a Sevilla striker

The signing of Lucas Stassin would allow Sevilla to expand their attacking resources and have an alternative for playing with two forwards. The Belgian attacker is very close to becoming one of the late moves of the Hispalis club.

The deal, in the final stage

According to information provided by L'Equipe, Sevilla and Saint-Etienne have advanced to the final stages of an operation that includes the loan of Stassin to the Sevilla team, who would reserve a buy option.

The talks are well advanced and the agreement is considered practically done. The planned schedule is for the player to arrive in Seville this Tuesday, coinciding with the last day of the window, to undergo a medical check and then sign his contract as the new player for the Nervion club.

The move responds to one of the squad's main needs. Luis Garcia Plaza is looking for a centre-forward who can increase attacking options and allow the use of a system with two strikers. Stassin would therefore fit into the planning of a Sevilla that is heading into the final stretch of the window with several issues still to be resolved.

International with Belgium, Stassin would begin a new chapter at Sevilla after his spell at Saint-Etienne. His arrival is still pending the completion of the medical and contractual formalities.
