Athletic Club are looking to get the pulse of the league competition back after the long international break and the postponement of their match against Rayo Vallecano from the previous matchday.

This is proving to be an atypical start to the season for the Basque side, as out of the first eight matchdays they have only played six matches. The rojiblancos saw their opening-day match against FC Barcelona postponed and, later on, suffered the suspension of their games against Levante and Rayo Vallecano.

Even so, with two games in hand compared to most of their rivals, they will try to secure a victory that allows them to establish themselves in the top positions of the table.

For this fixture, the Bilbao coach Edin Terzic will not be able to count on his two key players, Nico Williams and Oihan Sancet. Both remain sidelined due to muscle issues.

In the doubt category is Aymeric Laporte, who already dropped out of the squad for the match against Rayo Vallecano and will be a doubt until the very last moment.
