The Villarreal and Elche face each other this Saturday, October 17, at 4:15 pm, at the Estadio de la Cerámica. We have compared the forecasts from Cadena SER, AS and Comuniate to identify the main doubts for both teams ahead of matchday 9 of LaLiga.

Villarreal: Mikautadze or Oluwaseyi, the big question

Villarreal CF

The Cadena SER expects a starting XI made up of Gulácsi; Freeman, Foyth, Renato Veiga, Sergi Cardona; Pape Gueye, Saliba; Ilias Akhomach, Moleiro, Ayoze Pérez and Mikautadze.

The main differences with Comuniate show up in midfield and up front. Our prediction includes Comesaña as an alternative to Saliba, while Oluwaseyi has strong options to lead the attack instead of Mikautadze. Gerard Moreno is also in the mix.

Meanwhile, AS has recently highlighted Mikautadze and Nicolas Pépé's loss of prominence, pointing out that Akhomach's good run has especially hurt the second. This situation strengthens the case for the Moroccan winger, although the choice of striker remains open.

Elsewhere, there is plenty of agreement, with Moleiro, Pape Gueye, Renato Veiga and Ayoze as key players in Iñigo Pérez's plans.

Elche: Morcillo, Sangaré and Cepeda raise doubts

Elche C.F.

The Cadena SER predicts an XI made up of Dituro; Cepeda, Sangaré, Víctor Chust, Javi Morcillo, Roy Revivo; Gonzalo Villar, Marc Aguado; Lemar, Germán Valera and Fer Niño.

At Comuniate we agree on most of the names, although we consider Buba Sangaré and Rubén Sánchez as alternatives at right-back. There is also competition between Lucas Cepeda and Tete Morente, with the former slightly ahead in our forecast.

One of the keys is at the heart of the defense. The AS newspaper highlighted Javi Morcillo's strong performance as a centre-back against Celta, an outing that could allow him to stay alongside Víctor Chust. That would make it harder for Federico Redondo to return to the starting XI and would favor Marc Aguado's continued presence in midfield.

The Cadena SER de Elche has also pointed to Martin Anselmi's limited rotation, with him using a relatively small group of players. This trend points to a lineup with few changes, although the positions mentioned remain open.
