Bad news for Claudio Giráldez. Borja Iglesias will be out for around six weeks after a muscle injury in his left leg was confirmed. The Celta striker, who has already suffered other physical problems this season, will miss several key fixtures on the calendar.

The Celta medical team continues to build up numbers, and the latest setback affects Borja Iglesias, whose recovery will take about a month and a half. The Compostela-born forward has barely been able to find any continuity at the start of the campaign and now faces his third injury of the season.

The issue emerged during Tuesday's training session, when the player felt intense pain in his left leg. The tests carried out afterwards, including an MRI, have confirmed a myotendinous tear in the left soleus, with an estimated recovery period of six weeks.

The medical services at the Vigo club are already overseeing the treatment of the forward, who arrived at the start of the season with limited preparation. His late arrival, prompted by his participation in the World Cup with the Spanish national team, prevented him from completing a normal pre-season.

This, along with the physical problems he has been dealing with, explains his low involvement to date. Borja Iglesias has only played 99 minutes across four matches, despite being available for five of the ten games that have been played.

The matches Borja Iglesias will miss and his possible return

The striker's absence, after he already missed the clash against Juventus, is expected to extend to fixtures against Alavés, Celtic of Glasgow, Betis, Salamanca CF in the Copa del Rey, Rayo Vallecano, Union Saint Gilloise and Levante.

The match against the Real Madrid on November 22 at the Santiago Bernabéu appears as a possible date for his comeback, once the November international break has passed. However, his availability will depend on how his recovery progresses.

Claudio Giráldez had already warned about the situation after Thursday's match. While at the time he avoided putting a specific return date on it, the coach acknowledged that he would not be able to count on the attacker "for a while".

Borja Iglesias's absence adds to those of Carl Starfelt, Miguel Román and Jones El-Adebellaoui, who are also facing several weeks of recovery due to different injuries. In the cases of Román and El-Adebellaoui, both players have had to undergo surgery.
